Newcastle United Football Club

The Magpies are known for many reasons, but there is no better place to start than with the fans. Between the accent and an almost superhuman resistance to the cold, many from the south almost consider Newcastle as a different country. That’s a reputation that Newcastle fans are happy to revel in, from massive turnouts regardless of on-pitch success and shirtless antics in the dead of winter among their hallmarks.

The club is happy to welcome them all too. With a capacity of 52,354, St James’ Park is the eighth largest ground in the country at the time of writing, bigger than the home stadiums of Aston Villa, Chelsea and Everton, among others.

The club is not without success either. While modern honours are hard to come by, Newcastle has won the First Division on four occasions, and the FA Cup on six. While recent years have been relatively barren, this well-supported and wealthy club is always there or thereabouts when it comes to the top divisions of English football.
